How does BOTOX work?

Is there downtime after BOTOX?

Little to no downtime is needed after BOTOX injections. The injections can be completed in less than an hour, and you will not need to miss work after your BOTOX treatment. BOTOX is well-tolerated, and some patients may experience slight redness or swelling near the injection site. These symptoms will dissipate quickly, and you will begin to see results as soon as a few days following the procedure.

Are BOTOX injections painful?

Generally, BOTOX injections are not considered painful. We use a topical anesthetic to make the procedure more comfortable. The injections are typically compared to any other vaccination, shot, or getting blood drawn. Any slight pinch or pain will quickly go away once the procedure is complete.

How long will my results last?

Most patients will notice smoothing of wrinkles and general improvement of the treated area after two to four days. The results will continue to improve for up to two weeks following your treatment, and then the results will typically last between three and six months. Treatments can be repeated as necessary to maintain your smooth, youthful look.
